The Band will be joining the Jubilee celebrations at the Merrymoor at lunchtime on Tuesday 5th June and in the afternoon at St Columb Minor Social Club.

Newquay Band started the season off with a lunchtime concert at the Fort in Newquay in fantastic warm sunshine! Many people were enjoying the weather – and the music – in the garden. The views over the bay and beaches were stunning! Let’s hope the weather will be as kind on Saturday when we play on the Barrowfields!

The Band is looking forward to being involved in this historic occasion on 19th May. We will be playing in the marquee on the Barrowfields from 11am until 12noon and then from 1.30 till  2pm.

The Band starts the season on Sunday with a lunchtime concert at the Fort in Newquay. The forecast is good so let’s hope the sun shines!

Hope you like our new website! Please bear with us if there are any glitches, but hope it will all work smoothly! There are a lot of older posts at the moment as more up-to-date posts were put on our old website.

Dates of engagements will soon appear on the calendar as well as reports of band activities.

The Penryn contest has been postponed until September so more of that later.

The Band is busy practising new music for the coming season. No practice tomorrow evening as it is Easter Monday and many members are going to the Youth Band Concert at St Michael’s Church!

This year’s Band dinner will take place at the Griffin Inn Newquay on Saturday 25th February at 7.30. The cost will be £15 per person and £9 for under 12s. Any former members of the Band are very welcome to join us More details from band members or contact us through the website. During the evening the annual awards will be presented.

The Band is now in the middle of the Turkey and Tinsel season, playing carols every Monday and Friday at hotels in Newquay.

The Masonic Concert at the Hotel Bristol on 4th December will see the Band playing a programme of Christmas music as well as the carols.

The Band will be playing carols at different venues and events throughout December.

This autumn there is a new opportunity for people to learn to play a brass instrument. Lessons are available free of charge with Linda Trethewey MD of the Band. Instrument loan is also free and open to people of all ages. Contact us for more information.

The Band played at the Atlantic Hotel at the VIP evening for the representatives of all the towns in the Southwest that entered the competition.
